These are absolutely brilliant. My 2 year old niece and my 10 year old daughter have had an absolute ball with these in my house, and that’s saying something when there’s a big age gap involved.At first, I thought they’d be a novelty that lasted five minutes, but the built in video feature completely elevates them beyond standard walkie talkies. My niece hasn’t quite clocked what’s happening yet, but my daughter definitely has. She’s been using the video to track where her cousin is when they’re playing hide and seek, which has turned it into a full blown spy mission rather than just shouting from room to room.They’re very easy to use. Switch them on and they pair automatically with each other, no channels to fiddle with and no setup drama. The buttons are big and simple, perfect for kids, and the screens are bright and clear enough to use indoors and outside. The video quality is more than good enough for a children’s toy and adds loads of fun rather than feeling gimmicky.The voice changer modes are another big hit. Robot and alien voices have caused a lot of giggling and definitely stretched playtime longer than usual. It really encourages imaginative play, role play, and teamwork rather than kids just sitting staring at a screen.They’re lightweight but feel sturdy, and they’ve already survived being dropped without any issues. Battery life has been solid too. They’ve lasted a whole afternoon of on and off use without needing a recharge, and charging via USB is far easier than constantly replacing batteries.Range has been perfectly fine for house and garden play, which is exactly what we use them for. I wouldn’t buy these expecting mile long communication, but for kids playing nearby, indoors or outside, they do exactly what they should.Overall, these are a genuinely fun and clever upgrade from normal walkie talkies. They’ve kept two kids of very different ages entertained together, which is no small achievement. If you’re looking for a toy that gets kids moving, talking, laughing, and playing imaginatively, these are a fantastic choice.

The colours are subtle and gender-neutral, and each one comes with a lanyard and its own USB-C charging cable. No setup needed at all — they’re pre-paired, so you just switch them on and they connect automatically.The built-in cameras for video calling is decent as long as you’re not moving around too much or too quickly. The volume is quite low if you’re trying to stay in the video frame full faced, the mic isn’t close to your mouth, audio is much clearer / louder when used like a traditional walkie talkie.There’s a single button function to switch between different screen views, and holding it down lets you cycle through fun voice changer modes like chipmunk, robot and alien. The screen also displays useful information including signal strength, battery level, and a mic indicator which appear when the other person is talking.Overall, these are great for younger kids — small, lightweight, easy to use, and well made. These Kids Video Walkie Talkies are such a fun gift for my little ones! The rechargeable feature is super convenient, and the 1000 feet range means they can chat from across the house or even outside without losing connection. My kids love the 3 voice effects—it adds a playful touch to their adventures. Perfect for kids aged 3-12, whether for indoor play or outdoor explore. It’s been great for keeping them entertained!

These are a surprisingly fun little toy. I got them so that my kid could talk to me from another room without having to yell at me or constantly run back and forth. She hasn’t quite figured out how to use the PTT button consistently, but she does love them. The only thing I wish is that they had a mode that would put them to sleep between transmissions for extended battery life, but the battery life itself is still pretty good. The video quality, audio, and range are surprisingly good for the price, which is cheap. They’ve been working pretty well for a few months now. My kid’s cousins also have a set of these, and they use them constantly, and they seem to hold up to a fair amount of abuse.I haven’t tested them to see if they are an RFI disaster (for those who care), but I do suspect they are probably not great for spurious emissions lol.In summary, these are both useful and fun. Got these Kids Video Walkie Talkies 2 Pack for the little ones and they’ve been great fun. They’re rechargeable, which is a big win because I’m done with swapping endless batteries. They work well up to about 1000 feet, decent enough for running around the garden and playing treasure hunt or spy games.The video feature is a laugh and the 3 voice effects keep the kids entertained. They’re simple for them to use, whether we’re indoors or out and about on a walk or holiday. Build quality feels solid enough to survive the usual knocks and drops too.Not perfect for proper long-distance radio chatter, but for kids aged about 3 to 12 they’ve loved them. Good value, lots of laughs, and they keep them busy for ages. Worth grabbing if you want a fun present or something to make outdoor play a bit more exciting.

Our youngest grandkids will soon be seeing the possibilities of playing with these walkie-talkies. But, my wife and I needed to do some scientific, oh, and educational testing first! Well, I did order them, so fairs, fair. (Just need to get them back in the box, clean and without them realising that they’ve been played with, err, tested under strict scientific conditions.These are just great walkie-talkies. Just charge up, switch on, and even in our Victorian home with thick walls, a good signal can be had. But don’t try too many thick walls at the same time! Yes, at under £20, the video picture isn’t 4k but is said to be HD. I’m sure the kids won’t mind, as they will still see each other and have great fun. Which is all they want to do, isn’t it? It’s the same for the sound quality. Hey, it might not be the latest Doly surround sound, but you’ll still hear them clearly enough.In ‘scientific testing’, my wife called me down for dinner using them. Instead of simply calling out to me, she could actually show me the meal on the plate. Classy! 😊 Must try that with the grandkids, but hide the sprouts behind the chips!!On the downside, they’ve made the two sets blue and pink. If you have two boys or two girls, that might raise a few issues. Why not have non-gender-based colours, like black and white, or green and red, or silver and yellow, etc.?I am pleased they’ve chosen a rechargeable battery, rather than AAs/AAAs. So much easier to use, and so much better for the environment.At the time of ordering in late January 2026, this pair of walkie-talkies were just under £20, offering excellent value for money.Five stars. Recommended.
